Guided Tour "Festival of Joy"
In the run-up to May 8, the Mauthausen Committee Austria (MKÖ) is offering guided tours for the Festival of Joy in downtown Vienna. The tours feature interactive learning and cover the following topics:
- Monuments, significance, and symbolism of Heldenplatz
- Significance of 8 May for Austria and Europe as the day of liberation from fascism and the terrible atrocities committed by the Nazis
- History of the Festival of Joy
- Survivors and contemporary witnesses at the Festival of Joy
Guided tours for groups
On weekdays, the "Festival of Joy" tour is available for groups (schools, after-school programs, adult groups, etc.).
